What if religion itself is a trial?

I’ve heard my teacher tell me and the rest of the students that whatever sucky (clearly that was not the word he used) things happen in life, they’re merely tests to see if we’re strong faithful human beings deserving a place in heaven. What I have never heard is him explaining the odd bits of the religious teaching. You know, the apparent bias and seemingly-violent take against “non-believers” and those who have “strayed” (and not to mention the unreasonable definition of “strayed”).

What if those bits were thrown in there as pop quizzes, so to speak? To see if people actually use their minds and do the right sensible things or blindly follow something so blatantly intolerant and unkind and then label their despicable actions as something so supposedly-virtuous as “religion”.

Somewhere in the middle of 6-hour wait at the immigration office (for which I am generously patting myself in the back for being such a good sport about it), I realized that I saw my cellphone as female, my current and old (in a coma) laptops as male, and my iPod as androgynous.

And, and, just as the Doctor called the TARDIS ‘Sexy’, I feel the urge to call my phone with the same name, despite the word ‘sexy’not having the slightest tinge of red.

Six hours of queueing, you’d think I’d come up with something deeper, more sociological or psychological, to write. Oh brain, how dull(er) you’ve become.

Twenty one years old and out of university, people keep expecting me to have a proper job. Any will do, apparently. Then once I’ve got a job, I’ll be expected to get a boyfriend. Once I’ve got one, I’ll be expected to get married. Once I’ve got married, I’ll have to have kids. One kid, then another one. Then possibly another one. When does it end, really?

Just discovered Riidaa’s Top Secret solo. ~~Rumor~~ Wiki has it that he choreographed it himself. Which would be… And even if he didn’t, it’s still… I have never seen something so… Considering how quick the beat is, the precision of his movements to it is beyond impressive. Granted, some bits look rather freaky, like a video on fastforward, but, again, you can’t help but acknowledge the nearly-inhuman exactness of the moves. Must have watched it about ten times so far. Consecutively.

He’s the type that doesn’t give much most of the time. Watch their lives and you’ll find him only barely dancing on half, if not most, songs/dances. Heck, watch their shows and you’ll find him looking sleepy half/most of the time. But on a few occasions, very few occasions like this one, ah. It renders me speechless and I’m not even going to bother opening Encarta to look for appropriate words.

Let’s not even discuss Shizukana Yoru ni solo. Completely different feel from the one above. Same person. I turn stupid watching him. And that’s not even a complain.

Starting to think that I need to use an organizer. Or at least start making a to-do list. And I mean a proper one, written on paper and checked every now and then and actually followed. Not one that I usually make in my head because frankly, it’s not very reliable.

So many things to do. And I’m not even employed or enrolled in a school. Geez. Why do I always end up in extreme situations? Either very busy or very free. Ironic, considering how I generally dislike anything excessive.

And why is it that once I’ve got an offer from a family and am about to enter a contract, offers from other places keep coming? So tempting. I keep having to remind myself to not go back on my words, despite the fact that I’m not in a legally binding situation yet. Must not be greedy and must keep own words.

If I were in still in my room in Beppu I would write that on that little whiteboard on the wall. How I miss it (the room, not the whiteboard).
